In addition to the reading and general literacy assignments on Newsela, Newsela provides access to Tuva datasets with very easy-to-use graphing tools that elementary and middle school students could utilize for quick lessons in data literacy.

Students can quickly manipulate data on the graph and analyze it for synthesis without having to deal with immense planning time on the teacher’s end or learning software like Excel. This could also be applied with high school students using the embedded descriptive statistical tools.
